The Concentrator 1 T1/T2 Coarse Ore Flotation and the Concentrator 2 Flotation Upgrade Project is a new installation in a “Brownfields” location within the existing processing plant and significant brownfield upgrades/modifications.

ACG have been awarded the mechanical and electrical scope for the upgrade. Labour and management costs circa $70m over 11 months, in excess of 120 directs, 28 management and additional resources over shutdown periods.

As part of the upgrade, flotation concentrate was redirected to the coal thickener with no significant modification to the thickener or flocculant supply. With flotation and froth capacity as the bottleneck in the plant, the option to construct a new thickener and associated equipment was identified.

ACG were awarded the Civil, SMP, Electrical and Commissioning for a Thickener and Thickener Feed System. Labour and management costs circa $11m over 4 months, in excess of 40 directs. The works were completed safely, within budget, and to the desired time frame.

Our client commenced the feasibility study for the plant upgrade in February this year continuing into front-end engineering design phases and an EPC offer provided in June. The expansion of the processing plant will increase its capacity from 285t/h to 500t/h.
